With your help, the Foundation will build a Memorial Plaza at the north end of the General Daniel “Chappie” James, Jr. Bridge. It will house a larger-than-life statue of the General and an F-4 Phantom and will honor his leadership, patriotism, and eternal optimism.
In June 2020, Florida Governor DeSantis signed into law the bill that names the new Pensacola Bay Bridge the General Daniel “Chappie” James, Jr. Bridge to honor this great Pensacola native son and trail-blazing national hero.
